Helping the 2009 batch find employment
This year, campus recruitment has been real bad in most colleges and I am guessing that the situation is similar at your college as well.
In view of this, I would like to suggest a few things we, as alumni, can do to improve the job opportunities of the current batch.
Simple math:
- Let us say each batch (in each discipline) contains 50 students.
- Let us say there have been at least 10 batches that have passed out of your college thus far.
- That means that the alumni strength for each discipline is at least 500.
- Of these about 400 should be gainfully employed now.
- These 400 can be assumed to be spread across at least 50 companies.
- If each of these 50 companies can provide employment for one person from your discipline/college this year, all the students of your college passing out this year would be employed!
This is one of the premises on which we have launched JobsByRef.com . This site allows students and alumni to connect to each other making it easier for alumni to find the current batch of students. I would urge all alumni to utilize the services of JobsByRef.com and help the current batch of students. Member registration on JobsByRef.com is absolutely free.
