Never apply without an employee referral

Here is the shortest route to your next job.

1. Find a job opening that you like.
Search the net, job boards, job aggregators until you find an opening that takes your fancy.

2. Find a contact in that company.
Over the years you have already built your connections - your past colleagues, your classmates, your friends and acquaintances. If you have been smart, you would have already moved these connections online into one or more of the social/professional/career networks(such as JobsByRef.com). Use these to find a good contact within the company to which you are applying.

3. Request the contact to provide you with an employee referral.
Apply for the job. Request your contact to endorse your application.

Studies show that, assuming you are qualified for the job, having an employee referral can improve your chances of landing the job by at least a 5X factor! If your network is weak, start building it now. You never know when you will need them. Click here to build your connections.
