What kind of a person are you?
I read a joke yesterday that said “There are two kinds of people, those who think there are two kinds of people and those that think there are many more”. That got me thinking about the kind of people who do online job searching…
When it comes to job search there are two kinds of people - those that actively go after jobs they want and those that wait for some job to come their way. Let’s ignore the second kind and look at those that are pro-active. Among this group there are two kinds of people - those that apply selectively and those that apply indiscriminately, go after every company and use every placement agency that they can reach. Let’s again ignore the second kind and look at those that apply selectively. Among this group also, there are two kinds of people - those that go about it methodically and use their connections and those that apply and wait for a response.
As usual, let us ignore the second group and look at the first group. There are no two kinds of people in the methodical group. These are the people who know exactly what they want and are in complete control of their careers and destiny.
So, which group do you belong to?
